I’ve never been to a gym before. Will I be the only one?

Not even close. Many people here are starting fresh, some haven’t exercised in years, some have never stepped inside a gym, and some are here because every other place made them feel like they didn’t belong.

What if I have an injury or something ongoing?

Totally normal. We work with people who have chronic pain, old injuries, post-surgery recovery, or just bodies that don’t bounce back the way they used to.

We tailor everything to what’s safe and doable for you.

Do I have to be super consistent or motivated already?

With us, your coach will take care of everything for you and keep you dialed in with support and accountability.

Many new members have experienced struggling to be consistent.

Is this going to be one of those high-pressure, aesthetics-obsessed gyms?

I did a Six Week Fitness Challenge at 5EW and it was great. The two semi PT sessions per week were fun, snappy, well considered and I loved training with Woody and Tim (who I did most of my classes with). A fantastic and superbly friendly gym. From the minute you walk in, it is very evident that it is not your typical commercial gym with intimidating vibes and big scary gym bros. The atmosphere is encouraging with all kinds of people, from injury recovering people to middle aged moms. Everyone works hard and no one is grunting like a hungry hog.

The gym is equipped with amazing facilities, including an ice bath, a top range infrared sauna with various customisable options for sounds and lighting, and the ultimate trump card: a comprehensive water filtration system thats equipped across both the showers and the drinking tap.

For people with sensitive guts and skin, this is a huge win.

The staff are all great and the PT's are all very friendly and knowledgeble and seem to have an edge in specialisation in their own way. Their head trainer Sam is a wealth of experience and knowledge and I trained under him and his younger padawan Ethan, both who helped me take huge leaps into a more integrated and stronger body.

I highly recommend this gym to anyone who doesnt know where to start, or anyone looking for a safe and friendly environment to work out in.

This place is the real deal!

Having trained and spoken to the PTs at this gym, I can attest that they have some of the deepest understanding of fitness, health and wellness in the industry.

The results I got from training is a testament to this as I went from not being able to perform a SINGLE proper squat to box squatting 120kg (I was 58kg at the time).

I regularly drop in for sauna and ice bath sessions for recovery, and their equipment selection is the definition of FUNCTIONAL.

I joined 5ew just over a year ago and it’s the best decision I’ve made. I was struggling with a hip injury and despite previously being pretty motivated to train prior to the injury, I was scared to go back to my old way of training only to have to spend another year recovery. The team at 5EW developed me a personal plan to help me regain my strength whilst working around my injury. The addition of yoga classes and saunas has helped me to regain my health. And even during lockdown my PT kept me on track with online PT sessions. A really great team, amazing facilities and I love that their focus is about health, not solely aesthetics.

My home away from home!

I absolutely cannot recommend 5th Element Wellness enough. Finally, a gym that cares about you in a holistic way. I have tried various chains of gyms in the past, including the gym at my University, and each time the experience was the same. Get you in, give you a generalised program (maybe, it's tailored to your goals, maybe not. Not a concern of most gyms) and a swipe card and off you go. This might be fine if you're an experienced bodybuilder who knows exactly what they're doing in regards to exercise form, motivation, nutrition, and other aspects of leading a healthy lifestyle but certainly for me, and I suspect most others out there, this seems like a hugely daunting prospect when starting out. In retrospect, I realise this is why I've tried and failed at so many other gyms in the past, because the care and attention to detail is non-existent. I would sign up to other gyms, and realise that if I didn't go, or skipped days of the week (which would turn into weeks, and then eventually stopping altogether), there would be nobody to support me or motivate me to pick myself up again and get back on the horse. This isn't the case at 5EW.

At 5th Element, I feel constantly motivated to get up and exercise, because I realise I'm no longer accountable to just myself. Whenever I go to the gym (which, by the way, started at maybe twice a week and has gradually INCREASED to 4-5 sessions a week, not decreased as I would at other gyms), I'm greeted by friendly staff who I feel are genuinely interested in not just my progress, but me as a whole. Weekly PT sessions with my trainer keep me motivated and on track with my fitness goals, and ensure my exercise form is on point. Monthly/bimonthly alignment sessions ensure my workouts don't get stagnant, and let me discuss goals not just related to exercise but my wellness as a whole, such as nutrition, meditation or sleep. I also love a little time in the infrared sauna, or picking up a delicious bone broth after a particularly hard training day. As health and fitness has now become a hobby of mine, I also thoroughly enjoy discussing sports physiology, aging, diet and supplementation with all of the knowledgeable staff when I get the chance. By the way, the supplement store attached to 5EW stock some of the best exercise supplements in Australia, some of which are quite difficult to find and can't be bought at your local chemist.

I started at 5th Element Wellness around March-April of this year, and since then I lost over 10kg (around 8-9% bodyfat), back to my natural weight. My goals have since pivoted and I am now focusing on increasing strength and lean muscle mass, and my trainers have supported me in every step of my goals and made sure that what I'm doing is on the right track. Not only this, but throughout my training there's also been a focus on injury prevention, posture correction and foundational strength which is so fundemental to good health but seemingly goes unnoticed in today's fitness industry, as it seems that everyone wants quick results with minimal effort. At 5th Element (a gym I can see myself staying with for a very long time), it seems the emphasis isn't just short term but also long term, to set up a foundation of health that will support me throughout life.

Hands down the best gym I’ve ever been a member at - I joined around 5 years ago and have seen huge improvements. From not being able to do a pull up (I even struggled with the bands) to being able to do 5 pull-ups - this was a huge goal of mine and only achieved with the guidance of the amazing personal trainers at 5ew! (Before and after videos attached) The environment is so welcoming it helped with my consistency. As a bonus it’s rarely too busy and I never had to wait for equipment.

Having never been to a gym in my 52 years, my experience at 5th has been outstanding. Awesome gym, friendly staff, the infrared sauna is great and the ice tub is perfect for recovery too. Also loved training with Ollie! Is always finding fun new ways to workout which keeps me motivated. They have a bunch of equipment that I havent seen elsewhere, eg the sled, ropes and climbing wall.

I’ve being seeing my PT, Ethan, at 5th Element for most of the year. His focus on developing a program to help rehabilitate and strengthen my old, injured (and frankly, weak) body is exactly what I needed to help build and maintain motivation. We started slowly, ensuring I was doing each exercise correctly, rather than just smashing it out! And we’ve recently started pushing heavier weights, still focussing on perfecting my technique to prevent injuries. My PT sessions have become a favourite part of my week.
